For the life of me I cannot understand why this major chemical company would knowingly poison their bird seed.....

OK....they did it for Greed. They didn't stop this practice even when employees protested.

In my mind $12.5 million is not enough of a fine. Think about the many innocent backyard bird lovers that unknowingly purchased these seed mixes and filled there bird feeders for there feathered friends.

I now wonder how many predators such as Hawks/Eagles were poisoned by eating birds and rodents that consumed this seed.

I will never buy anything from this company. Their fine does not fit the crime in my eyes.

UPDATE: Go to this Link: 2008 > Enforcement Report to get the list of ALL the bird seed and suet cakes that were recalled by Scotts Miracle-Gro. You have to scroll down the list of recalls to get  to it. They also state why they were recalled. It was to control an insect infestation in the bird seed/suet cakes.

Wishing Peace, Love, Health, and ALL!
