Brown-headed Nuthatches have Nested!

This is trilling news. My local Brown-headed Nuthatches have nested in one of my blued bird bird houses.

I took this first picture of their nest made of pieces of bark last weekend. (03/18/12)

This week (03/20/12) they have laid 4 wee eggs...thus far.

The eggs are about the size of a dime and speckled/ brown and reddish brown. The Mom covers the eggs up to protect the eggs when she leave the nest. I had to uncover the eggs to get this picture.
You better believe that I covered them back up quickly!!!

OH...I was happy to see cat hair from my "inside only" cats used in the nest.

Peace, Health, Wealth, and ALL!
